Guided or interactive tour on sets, guided exhibition tour and workshop

This route features two educational activities designed to engage visitors in an active experience on set, with in-depth exploration of one of the exhibition themes and film language through an educational workshop. Tours and workshops can be selected according to students’ needs and age groups.

THE PLASTER CASTS ROOM – NEW

Guided tour among the sets and the exhibitions and workshop

This route is divided into two phases to let children and young adults approach and explore cinematic fiction, from props to sets to masters of craftsmanship. Tours of exhibitions, sets and film sculptures will highlight the jobs of the professionals who contribute to preparation of the sets: painters, decorators, sculptors, carpenters. In the workshop students will have the chance to create small chalk props inspired by ancient Rome.

FRAME BY FRAME: THE STOP MOTION LAB-NEW

Guided tour among sets and exhibitions, screening and workshop

This route highlights the main features of cinematic language and the different animation styles with a particular focus on the “stop motion” technique. Images, set designs and stage costumes are the starting point to understand how a film is born. Participants will explore major and minor animation masterpieces as well as perceive the links among cinema, literature, history, art and illustrations. In the workshop, children and young adults can reinvent film stories and create their own stop motion video.

A FANTASTIC TRIP TO THE WORLD OF CINEMA 

Tour of the sets of Cinecittà Studios (Via Tuscolana 1055) and access to Cinecittà World (via Pontina, Castel Romano)
A joint route with Cinecittà World.

This joint route will enable participants to analyze the various elements of the world of cinema. In the morning, students will meet at the Studios on Via Tuscolana, where they will embark on guided and interactive tours to discover the creative process and the cultural value of movie making. In the afternoon they will enjoy Cinecittà World, a park filled with fun and spectacular attractions, highly regarded and admired for its sets designed by Oscar winning designer Dante Ferretti.

Each class can choose the type of tour they like best from those listed above.
The price of the bus to Cinecittà World is not included in the ticket and is to be arranged through the school.

CINEMA DAYS – FROM EUR TO CINECITTÀ: 20TH CENTURY ITALY IN HISTORY, CINEMA AND ARCHITECTURE

Guided tour of EUR buildings, guided tour of sets

This double guided tour is dedicated to cinema and architecture to let visitors understand the connection between EUR – the Roman area beloved by Federico Fellini for its metaphysical atmosphere – and Cinecittà. The rationalist architecture that characterizes these two places of the Italian 1900s will be the starting point to creating interdisciplinary links among history, architecture, cinema and art. Historical facts of the first half of the 20th century will be explored in Cinecittà with the screening of photographs and video excerpts to retrace the years when the slogan was “Cinema is the strongest weapon of the State.”
